The ghost town - “Kayakoy” - is not just an excursion into the past, but also a good opportunity to experience a diverse range of emotions: from a frantic impression to a slight shock that a habitable place was empty overnight, and earthquakes turned the village into ruins. Yes, precisely during an excursion to this abandoned Greek village. Why? Because, at a minimum, every corner here is imbued with a very interesting history. And if you climb to the top of the mountain, a stunning view of the entire surrounding area opens up. This is an incredibly powerful sight! On the one hand, there is a ghost town with destroyed houses and the absence of any civilization; and on the other, an ordinary Turkish village full of life with red tile roofs, citrus/olive gardens and kind people.
On the practical side: the excursion is inexpensive, it’s not far to go, the place has not yet been trampled by tourists, that is, you can wander around to your heart’s content, take photos without the crowds and calmly enjoy the atmosphere of this region.
